Conferences The Strand Hotel, Limerick City The title of the conference for 2010 is: " Directors as Leaders and Communicators" The conference will address the contribution that senior management makes to transforming public services on an ongoing basis. Local Government has already demonstrated its ability to adapt to the changing needs of our society. However, the current economic challenges call for an even greater response and we, as Directors of Services, are well placed to lead the changes required. Areas such as change management and motivation are considered to be of key importance in today's difficult environment to enable us to be effective leaders and communicators. We need to communicate our messages positively to local authority staff, elected members and the general public. We must continue to lead by example and bring others along with us. |
