Local Government Directors Association

Introduction

The Local Government Directors Association (LGDA) is a professional association of Directors of Services, Executive Managers in Dublin City, Heads of Functions and others to whom functions are delegated by a City or County Manager. Appointed from 2000 onwards on the basis of the report Better Local Government – A Programme for Change (Department of the Environment, 1996), officials at this management level have responsibility for providing services in local authorities.

To facilitate the networking dimension of the Association (LGDA) and the Society (LGDS), a Regional Contact is nominated for each of the eight regions.
